Ode to a Paper Clip
by
Avery Caswell

Next

unjammer of Macs
unclogger of Elmer's
emergency orange stick

more elegant organization tool than
say the ubiquitous
vanilla manilla
folder

tie on some string and
presto! an impromptu
feline amusement
or earthworm dangler
if you fancy fish
for dinner

when I see a stray one
even a slighty rusty one
along the curb
I bend to
rescue it
take it home
to my desk
where it can live
with the others.

I rescue paper clips too, consider that they cost .99 per 100 small variety.

My heart's beating too fast to type manilla correctly, though my computer does not want to spell it that way.
