Imagination
by
Rachel McKenzie

Next

To get inside the head
of a young man's dreams
think the thoughts of comic book's
imaginary scenes
Pretty ladies, dashing men,
under bright moonbeams
Kings and knights and far off lands
and evil schemes

Of course he is the hero
the little boy in bed
writing down these stories
that someday will be read
to other little boys and girls
to fill their little heads
with imaginary lifetimes
to dream about instead

A great match--the poem and the illustration.

I love the rhythm of the rhyme! And the thought of all those little girls and boys dreaming and reading in their beds!

I'm in awe! Rachel's poem is winsome and engaging--that would be enough in itself. But John's visual adds an enhancing touch. Well done!!
