Counting the Dogs (Read this one)
by
Julianne Carlile

This one was put in a sweater,
This one stayed home,
This one was given snacks and cheese
But would eat none,
And this one barked Woof Woof Woof Woof
All day long.

This one jumped into the car,
As though it were an adventure,
This one ran and chased a ball,
This one was too tired,
And this one barked Woof Woof Woof Woof
All day long.

This one thought he was a person,
This one thought he was a cat,
This one thought he was a dog,
An ordinary dog,
And barked Woof Woof Woof Woof
All day long.

I have a Bloodhound named Sherlock who is convinced that he is a dog and we both accept him just that way.

I made a typo on the first one. I hate that.
