This website exists solely for the purpose of making the general public aware of the pleasures of poetry. It is sustained through the underwriting and generosity of a few, the artistic and technological talents of a few more, whatever advertising or sponsorships can be appropriately but not gratuitously used, and a few gracious poetry lovers who are kind enough to support the cause. Poems featured here are selected at random simply because the owner of the site likes them. While featured poems may reflect the influence of the owner's background, occupation, religious or political affiliation, or personal experiences, the owner receives no compensation in exchange for promoting or featuring a particular poem or book. The views and opinions expressed here are purely that of the site owner and the owner reserves the right to publish or not publish any comments made in response to featured content.

Periodic contests may be held in an effort to generate new material or poems on specific themes, and to provide funding for site expenses and/or contest awards and honorariums. Contest rules and deadlines will be clearly displayed.
