Tea Time
by
Mark Lane

She walks around with her tea cup, nestling its tea bag,
She needs to find some hot water before her spirits start to lag.

She’d love to be comforted by the warmth of the brew,
But the kettle has been put away so what is she going to do?

The imbibing in bags of soothing herbs is in tradition steeped,
Now if she could just get her tea in that state she would be complete.

Time has worked against her and the hot water’s been removed,
But she’s never been a quitter as time and again she’s proved.

Improvisation is the rule whenever things in her life go south.
That’s why you can see that tea tag dangling from her mouth.
