In Loud Silence
by
George Wentz

I left a light in the window.
I cannot see you out in the darkness,
but from the darkness you can see me.

I left a word hanging in the air.
I cannot make you hear it,
but it is there if you listen.

I left a hand reaching out.
I cannot touch you,
but will hold you if you come to me.

I left an answer with the stars.
I cannot tell you what it is,
but some velvet night you will know.
