Billy's Nine
by
robert manchester

Page thirty-three
pulls me even more
than the flush of “Love”
with its movement
of romance.
On that envelope.

It is a rainy day,
not yet nine o’clock,
and the easy rhythm
of the words
lulls me into
dreaming, remembering.
An early nap.

I don't understand this poem. How does the envelope fit?
