Summer Storm
by
Tracey Stricker

Dark, where light
once shone
Touching down from
blackened heavens.

Shadows, once cast
no longer dancing
on the dewy grass.

Leaves, upturned
Their pale green
undersides anticipating
ablution.

Warmth gives way
to cool thrusts
of wind and sunless
sky with
a rush of thunder.

Summer storm.
