You Are Special
by
George Wentz

Sing a different song
a melody strange
to other ears
a tempo that
tricks their fingers
and their feet.

See through
the ordinary veil
of being
to find a leaf rustle
in the wind
that no one else sees.

Hear the murmur
of time passing
so quietly
that even the sound
of a hummingbird
blots it out.

You are special,
a brilliant
and vibrant color
amid the
gray
existence.
