Today's World
by
George Wentz

Leaders speak different languages
arguing between war and peace.

A nation somewhere on the map
is devastated by an earthquake.

Financial wizards manipulate fortunes
as markets roil like an angry sea.

Tired workers watch the clock
waiting for their day's labor to end.

Children look up to a gray sky
at white specks drifting toward them.

Amid their shrieks, a wet snowflake
lands on an outstretched tongue.

I love it. you remind the reader to assess and reassess what truly matters in their lives and it can be as simple as catching a snowflake on your tongue cause that was one of the best things of winter when you're young

Bless the spirit of the children... and of the poet who captures the message in the moment. Well done!
