A Former Curmudgeon Without His Dudgeon

The Master Potter reshaped the clay.
"Remove the burrs", I heard Him say.

"Time to update the ex-curmudgeon,
Grace over tantrums, outbursts of dudgeon.

But then the words from His mouth were spillin',
"This one's ready for the killin'!"
