Final Home
by
Heather Beech

She sits in a place,
As familiar to her as any home.
She knows no one there,
But this is where she finds herself time after time.
She looks around, watching for anyone else.
Same place, but many times,
A different location.
She looks up, up at the sky......
Why is it impossible for her not to cry?
Whether for today, the uncertain future,
Or the questions that will never be answered.
There is always one strong desire......
Enlightenment .
A hope to hang on to, someone to let her know......
They can see it all.
Her mistakes have been many.
Her future so uncertain.....
No one to guide or nurture her mind, body, or soul.
But while she's there, all alone.......
She can let all of that go.
No one would ever know where to find her.
She has never told a soul.
But the place she is drawn to
When the weight is so strong......
Is the same place she knows,
She will someday call her final home........
