Enchanted
by
Russ Towne

Some folks say there’s too much silence
When they’re out in the country
If only they could hear
All the sounds that inspire me
Sunrise brings out the birds
As they begin their own songs
Except the Mockingbird who knows them all
And simply sings along
Each drop of rain from the storm
Makes a melody
And the voices of a waterfall
Sing in harmony
The leaves on each tree
Sway to every tune
When darkness falls the coyotes howl
Their love song to the moon
They all come together in a wondrous way
To sing and play for me
I’m enchanted by the forest choir
And nature’s symphony
With every note of music
Each whisper of the wind
When I’m away from the country
I can’t wait to get back again
Because nature comes together in a wondrous way
To sing and play for me
I’m enchanted by the forest choir
And nature’s symphony

(This poem was the genesis for the song "Nature's Symphony" co-written by Kevin Harris. He put music to my poem/lyric.)

"Except for the mocking bird who knows them all." Excellent line. I enjoyed your writing. Sharon L.H. Kelly
