You Know Who You Are
by
Don Burd

You know who you are.
You're someone from my past.
You're someone who shared an amazing,
wonderful time in my life.

Now, time has faded you into shadow...
into a soft, pleasant, far place...a memory.

It happens, that, one day I hear a familiar song,
or see that sky in a certain way,
or the mountain winds bring down the smells of autumn
and I am reminded of you...and you are here,
and there is a smile in my heart,
and I am happy again.

If you think this poem is about you, you are correct -
If you think this poem is only about you, you would be mistaken.
