The Roads We Travel
by
Nicole Chase

The roads we travel,
Getting place to place and enjoying the ride,
Or hitting every bump or curve it throws our way.
We can take the highway,
Accelerating fast without a care in the world,
Or get stuck in a traffic jam of confusion.
We could take the back roads,
Embracing life sipping sweet tea on the porch swing,
Or hit a pothole of mass destruction.
With every bumps and bruises,
Laughter and cackle,
We are defined
By the roads we travel.
