Slovak Widow On 59th Street
by
Donal Mahoney

She’s 84
and when she stands,
everyone can hear the chiropractic crack

of eon bones
and everyone still tries hard
not to look

that half second when
the chamois’s taut
across protractor features.

Donal - You miss my point. You put so many in a system that is not really the place for so many. For a whole collection something like Writers Carnival would be more in keeping. You get reaction every poem there.

Rhona, I think you should go ahead and post your poems here. I don't know why you would think they are not wanted here. I have been at this a long time and there are many ups and downs in terms of acceptances and rejections but here there is an opportunity to post work you want to put out there. You may or may not get a reaction. It might be good or might be bad. After awhile, you get used to either. Good luck.

I feel you should have a collection of your own. I am wondering if this is the place for it. I would like to enter one or two of my own poems- but feel that they are not wanted here.
