who's in the empty room
by
ryan erdmann

Who’s in the empty room

Who moves
In the silent air
Adrift in the ocean of atoms
How much of me
Is suspended in there
Is there a piece of my soul
In tiny bits of dead hair
Am I mixed with the air
In that cold empty room
Am I worried at all
When I pick up the broom
When I sweep up the dirt
And toss it outside
Am I one with the wind
Do I enjoy the ride
When I open a window
Do I let me inside
And offer my lungs
As a good place to hide
And then mixed with the blood
In the tiniest veins
What left
Of separation remains
