spiritual direction
by
Phyllis Beckman

sister shirley,
chair facing mine,
accepts the poem,
listens respectfully
while i read aloud,
sits silently
for a moment,
carefully considering
before
speaking.

in this space
she of the gentle all
hugs me
into wholeness.

Your poems are hugs. Or fingers, pointing to the moon. I likes them. :)
