Things that Beep
by
Phyllis Beckman

Blessed be
the things that beep
throughout the day, my life to keep:
the fire alarm with batt'ry low
the coffee maker, brew aglow
the microwave, when dinner's done
the timer, true, at ten to one
the breadmachine, the friendly phone,
blood pressure gauge with tinkley tone.
Blessed be
the things that beep
but now, desist....
I need my sleep!

This poem is funny. What do you mean you were playing with my poem? What were you doing with it? I'm referring to "I Live Exposed" and your comments.

Excellent use of rhyme ... and play! I hope you got your sleep. :)
