yet again, wisconsin
by
Phyllis Beckman

drifting, sifting, shifting snowdunes
pause,
look both ways,
then cross,
blissfully burying
yet again
the icy streets
of winterland

Phyllis Beckman:
A friend gave me the word "snowdunes" (coined by the local newspaper during the recent blizzard) and challenged me to use it in a poem. I did it! I have lived in Onalaska, Wisconsin for nearly four years, returning from Illinois to the state in which I was born 70 years ago. (too much information)

Julianne Carlile:
You live in Wisconsin? Where? Good winter poem, by the way.
