For You
by
Brendan Curran

My girl is a return to truth.
On her body she wears, charming,
A dress made by her hands
Which held a summer butterfly
Who whispered its secret.

In the candle-magic glow,
She is the glowiest,
Painting faces with the colors of her moonlight,
Daring, pages holding universes,
On the smiles of her stars.

If fate were an actor
She would be its adventure
Stirring oceans by the glimmer of her sparkle,
Sunsets, delivering serenity.
She delivers hope.

My girl deceives choice.
In her heart she carries, sunflowers,
Through a garden sowed by her intention
Who composed a dance
Which, on its numbers, sung compassion.

She moves inside a rainbow
Swimming through the meaning of its colors.
Once she looked at me,
Pupils as big as frying pans,
And inside was the purpose of the sunrise.

Absolutely beautiful! "Glowiest" does strike me a bit odd, as the only non-dictionary word in the poem, but every other line of this beautiful piece carries grace and charm and adoration - in short, love! I love it!

Phyllis Beckman:
May I suggest/insist that the positive qualities "she" reflects are those exhibited by the poet? .....sunflowers,.....sowed by her intention. I especially like that.
