"dare i approach?"
i inquire...
he measures me
up
and down.
"interesting",
he sniffs.
blinded
by the blaze,
the intense intelligence
behind
his brilliant baby blues,
i blink.
"interesting",
he repeats,
pivoting to pass,
presumably
in pursuit of persons less
"interesting".

"interesting"
suddenly tastes sour and
i don't like how
"interesting"

feels
