August Evening

I will not dwell
upon the evils

of the world
while the sun

setting red
burnishes the surf

a black dog leaps
in coppery waves

sea water foams
at our feet

and the half moon
glows, a ghost

in the shore’s
wet mirror.

First stanza is good advise but getting more difficult by the day to do. This poem makes us more aware of the beauty all around us, the wet mirror on the shore is lovely. Thanks Tamara

Great fun. A sensitive, lyrical version of Alfred E. Neuman's "What, Me Worry?" We all need a little of this as the reality of the world infringes on us. My weekly tennis game was canceled this morning due to air quality. I can hardly see nearby hills and mountains due to smoke.
