Christmas Peace
by
Ron Stewart

Next

A walk in the forest on Christmas Eve
under the thin light of the Cold Moon.
Peace lives here on this magical night.
The animals, some asleep,
some alert, watching in silence.
Evergreens, symbols of everlasting life,
their wide majestic branches trimmed in white,
speak to us of days long past.
Whisper thoughts of beauty and goodwill,
retelling the mystery of Christmas;
why we honour these trees as we do;
placing gifts beneath their enchanted branches,
gifts of love, life, and sharing.
