Gravity
by
Carroll S. Taylor

Next

Crows’ feet.
Sagging jowls.
Turkey neck.

Laughter wrinkles.
Keep smiling
so they don’t show.

Extra pounds.
Achy hips and knees.
Gravity,
stop pulling me down.

Oh, well,
I don’t want to drift away
into outer space where
no one can hear
me complain.

Throw out the scale.
Don’t look in the mirror.
Let gravity do its thing.
