What I Can Do for You
by
Kelly Murphy Moreton

Next

I cannot give you possessions.
I can promise you passion.

I cannot guarantee you security.
I can make you smile.

I cannot open doors of opportunity for you.
I can expand your imagination.

I cannot dissolve your concerns.
I can strengthen your spirit.

I cannot change the world in which we live,
But I can encompass you in love.

Kelly Murphy Moreton says she has lived in many places, but Vermont is the first place she ever wanted to call home. She writes poetry as “a means of maintaining creative expression” in her life; growing flowers and cooking beautiful meals are other ways in which she explores creativity.

Powerful in its simplicity, poignant in its truth. Well done, Kelly.

Sometimes a poem does not have to rhyme or follow any strict rules of what a poem should be...This is one time that meets that criteria exactly...Good work Kelly.
